Self-efficacy has been a major mental health domain which is necessary for rehabilitation and social
adjustment of the mentally disabled. This is particularly true of those residing in mental facilities. Activities
of daily living, family support, leisure activities, and social support have been considered as the determinants
of self-efficacy of the mentally disabled. Yet, the effect of these determinants on their self-efficacy has not
been intensively studied. Hence, using a survey method, this study examined the effect of activities of
daily living, family support, leisure activities, and social support on self-efficacy of the mentally disabled
residing in mental facilities located in Choongcheong province. Major findings of this study are as follows:
first, sex and marital status, respectively, were significantly related to self-efficacy; second, activities of
daily living, family support, leisure activities, and social support, respectively, significantly influenced
self-efficacy. Some practice and policy implications are suggested on the basis of these findings.
