The purpose of this study was to understand effects of attitudes toward recovery of the people with mental illness on duration of job maintenance. A total 164 questionnaires were used in the analysis from purposeful sampling via cooperation of community mental rehabilitation centers and mental health promotion centers in Gyeonggi-do. The results of the study were as follows. First, as for the sub- factors, 'hope and optimism on life' was perceived highest 3.05 points. Second, only income out of sociodemographic characteristics was related to the duration of job maintenance. Third, as for the effects of attitudes toward recovery of the people with mental illness on duration of job maintenance, the attitudes toward recovery showed significant effects on duration of job maintenance in general. Among the sub-factors of the duration of job maintenance, ‘knowledge of support system’ had the most significant effect. Based on the above study results, this study suggested for strengthening of job maintenance intervention strategies of the people with mental illness vocational rehabilitation service of recovery perspectives.
