본 연구는 입학사정관제를 통해 입학한 교육대학생들의 편차가 큰 학업능력의 차이에서 오 는 문제를 해결하는 방안을 모색하는 연구이다. 효율적인 학습에 관한 이론 탐구, 우리보다 일찍 입학사정관제를 실시하고 있는 외국 대학들의 다양한 학습능력을 가진 학생들의 요구에 대처하는 사례 분석, 그리고 질문지를 통해 입학사정관제로 입학한 학생들의 학업생활 특성 을 파악함으로써 그들에게 필요한 학업지원 제도를 탐색하였다. 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 입학사정관제로 입학한 학생들의 특성은 전통적인 전형방법에 입학한 학생들에 비해 훨씬 다양한 특성을 가진 학생들이 입학하게 될 것으로 예상되며, 특히 학업능력의 편차가 더욱 크게 나타날 것이므로 이를 대처할 수 있는 제도 보완이 필요하다. 둘째, 학업에 수월성을 지닌 학생들에게는 Honors 프로그램을 제공하고, 학업능력이 현저 히 낮은 학생들에게는 비계학습(scaffolding) 도우미 프로그램을 제공해야 한다. 셋째, 무시험자격검정령이 개정됨에 따라 학생들의 학점 관리가 부담이 될 수 있으므로 이 를 해결할 수 있는 방안으로 수강취소(course drop)제도와 이수지연(incomplete) 제도를 도입 해야 한다.
The purpose of this study was to explore possible rules and regulations or programs to meet the needs of pre-service students admitted through admission officer system. Rules and regulations or programs offered by foreign teacher education institutions were analyzed. Also, a survey data were collected from 1,464 students who were studying at a national university of education in Korea and analyzed to figure out how to adjust their academic life at the university. This study concluded the following: First, the characteristics of students who enter into universities of education through the admission officer system will be more various than ever before. Thus, there are strong needs of developing academic programs for them to adjust well. Second, honors program would be better to offer for those academic ability is very high, and scaffolding tutor-tutee program for those academic ability is very low. Third, since the law for teacher qualification without test will be burden for students to meet the requirement, course drop and incomplete systems should be offered for those who possible fail courses.
