The purpose of this research is looking into the strategies that teachers in Child Care and Educational Institution use to create competition among children and the reason why they use them through participant observation and in-depth interview. The subject of this research are 10 kindergarten and nursery teachers responsible for children aged 3 to 5 in Seoul and Gyeong-Gi providence. The result of this research are as follows. Firstly, the situations that teachers stimulate the competitions among children were cleaning time, large group activity, transition time, and lunch time. Secondly, teachers guided children's behavior by using the terms related to competitions, giving a reward, making a comparison, setting limits, and changing activities to fun games as a strategy that causes the competition among children. Thirdly, the reason that teachers guide children by using the strategies which stimulate the competition among children is on achieving the purposes such as guidance of children's daily-life, harmonious class management, and their job satisfaction. In the inclusion education, teachers role and interaction which cause competition excessively can give negative effects on children's emotional and social development, and also the development of competition. Therefore, various teacher training programs should be provided which satisfy the improvement in teachers' professionalism and job satisfaction through continuous study about teaching strategy based on administrative and institutional framework which support teachers at the chalkface can feel a sense of accomplishment and job satisfaction with an informal atmosphere.
