This study was intended to identify the impact of the principal's emotional leadership
and empowerment perceived by teachers on school organizational effectiveness. For this
purpose, it attempted to analyze whether there was a difference in emotional leadership(EL),
Empowerment(E) and school organizational effectiveness(SOE) according to their background
factor and analyze the correlation among three factors, and the impact of subfactors such
as EL and E on SOE. To carry out this study, the questionnaire research was conducted for
600 teachers working in 10 elementary, middle and high schools in the Kyonggi Province.
Of them, 556 questionnaires were adopted for data analysis. Based on the findings, this
study drew the following conclusion:
It was found that the high level of perception existed on EL for elementary school, female
teachers, public school, less than 30 classes, chairperson, on E for elementary school, public
school, high-career teachers, chairperson, holders of the master's degree, on SOE for
elementary school, female teachers, public school, less than 30 classes and chairperson. And
it was found that there was a significant correlation among three factors, and EL had an
impact on E, which had an impact on SOE. In addition, it was found that social awareness,
relationship, as one of EL factors, and meaningfulness, competence, influence as E factors
had an impact on SOE, but E had a greater stepwise impact on SOE than teachers' EL.
Accordingly, it is necessary to make practical use of such EL factors as social awareness,
relationship and such E factors as meaningfulness, competence, influence in order to increase
SOE, which could help to improve the performance and quality of educational activity.
