이 연구의 목적은 학교장의 변혁적 지도성과 학교조직 효과성 간의 관계에 대해 최근 20년간(1990~2009) 연구?발표된 학위논문 및 학술지 논문, 총 130편(효과크기 사례수 190개)을 대상으로 메타분석하는 것이다. CMA를 통한 메타분석 결과, 학교장의 변혁적 지도성과 학교조직 효과성 간의 전체 상관관계는 .510으로서 높은 효과크기를 보이는 것으로 분석되었으며, 연구?발표년도에 따른 변혁적 지도성과 학교조직 효과성의 상관관계 변화는 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 학교장의 변혁적 지도성과 학교조직 효과성 세부하위변인 간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 상관관계가 높은 것부터 차례대로 보면, ① 조직건강, ② 직무만족, ③ 적응성, ④ 교사 사기, ⑤ 조직풍토, ⑥ 집단응집성, ⑦ 직무성과, ⑧ 조직헌신, ⑨ 직무스트레스 순으로 나타났다. Hunter- Schmidt 방식에 의하면, 진점수 상관관계()는 .546이고, 확신구간은 .287~.805로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to reexamine papers published in Korea and to investigate the relationship between principals' transformational leadership and school organizational effectiveness & sub-components by meta-analysis. The author collected as many as 130 papers with retrieval word of school principal, transformational leadership & organizational effectiveness by some information services. This study was the first research of meta-analysis that investigated precedent researches on the relationship between the principals' transformational leadership and school organizational effectiveness(& sub-components). The analytic results for the relationship between the transformational leadership and the school organizational effectiveness were as follows. The principals' transformational leadership had a close relationship with variables such as school organizational effectiveness &. sub-components. According to traditional meta-analysis(BHHR), the weighted mean correlation was .510. Lower & upper limit of the confidence intervals(95%) were .481 and .537, respectively. According to H-S meta-analysis, the was .546, and the lower & upper 10% of credibility internals(80%) were .287 and .805. The relationship between the principals' transformational leadership and the school organizational effectiveness was affected by the moderators, too. The effect size of elementary school was smaller than that of secondary school, and the difference was not large. The relationship between two variables was rarely affected by the research(or publication) year. There was rarely publication bias, too.
