The purpose of this study was to design a program for verbal interaction and verify its effect to provide a method that helps preservice teachers to improve their ability for interacting verbally. Thirty students who majored in early childhood education in a university located in Gwangju province were sampled as subjects. Subjects of an experimental group participated in the program that was developed to improve ability for verbal interaction. The results of the study were as follows: Firstly, it was found that, in the case of the experimental group that took part in the program for verbal interaction, the subjects' ability to interact verbally was improved, and consequently they had a tendency to be able to make appropriate questions and react properly. Secondly, the program was effective to help preservice teachers to develop their efficacy as a teacher. According to the results of this study, it was implicated that, in training preservice teachers, it was required to recognize the significance of programs that helps to improve ability to interact verbally, and to develop a variety programs for it.
