The purpose of this study was to investigate first aid perception, knowledge, and educational needs of
Taekwondo leaders. Methods: Participants in the survey for this study were 149 Taekwondo leaders placing in Chungbuk
province, from February 16th to 23rd, 2013. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe
test and Pearson's correlation coefficients with SPSS Window program(ver.18.0). Results: In the rank of emergency experience,
high priority were nasal bleeding, sprain, musculoskeletal problem. In average points, first aid perception was 5.84
points(total 8 points), knowledge was 20.15 points(total 33 points), and educational needs level was 8.47 points(total 10
points). According to the first aid perception, there were significant differences in place of work, first aid education experience,
and times. According to the knowledge, there were significant differences in age, marital status, education level,
position, emergency experience, first aid experience, and first aid education experience. Also, educational needs were
significant differences in age, marital status, position, emergency experience, and first aid experience. In correlation analysis,
perception was significantly correlated with knowledge(r=.29, p<.001), educational needs level was significantly correlated
with knowledge(r=.23, p=.004). Conclusions: It is needed for developing first aid program to enhance first aid competence
according to personal level.
