The purpose of this study is to implement a self-awareness improvement
program utilizing integrated art therapy for housewife counseling volunteers,
and to look into its effects on their stress and acceptance behavior. For this
purpose, this study selected 30 housewife counseling volunteers from 'A' and
'B' Healthy Family Support Center, and assigned them to the experimental
group and the control group, 15 persons each. A total of eight sessions of
the program were offered to the experimental group, one 120-minute session
a week. The self-awareness improvement program utilizing integrated art
therapy was consisted of the domains of body awareness, emotional awareness,
cognitive awareness, and memory awareness. The stress test and the
acceptance behavior test were carried out on the experimental group and the
control group before and after the program. The findings from the analysis
of the collected data are as follows: First, the self-awareness improvement
program utilizing integrated art therapy had the effects of overall reduction
in the stress response level of the housewife counseling volunteers. And the
domains of aggressiveness, anger, tension, depression, and fatigue showed
statistically significant differences; however, the domains of somatization and
frustration showed non-significant results. Second, the self-awareness
improvement program utilizing integrated art therapy had the effects of
improving the acceptance behavior level of the housewife counseling volunteers,
and both willingness and commitment behavior showed significant differences
