The major objectives of sport programs for vaulting in elementary shcools can be more easily achieved by scaling the game down to a child\'s level or by simply changing some rules to ensure maximized skill development. The primary benefit of rules and game modificaions is that chileren experience more success in participation by learning skills faster and more proficiently . In situations where playing areas are smaller and a team is comprised of fewer player, young athletes have more oppurtunities to participate, resulting in a sense of achievement which leads to positive self-esteem. Modifications also reduce hazardous situations and thus promote a more physically safe environment.
