We aimed to investigate the beneficial effects of 20 weeks yoga program on the primipara’s physical and mental statuses by
measuring of total body weight gain, changes of body mass index (BMI), and pain of birth as well as mental mood states.
Participants were met the criteria which were on the 20 weeks of pregnant duration, normal range of BMI, and 25 ? 35 ages.
After then a total 80 of primipara were divided into two groups as control and yoga program. All of the subjects undergone the
regular yoga or control program for 20 weeks twice a week. This study carried out the follow results that yoga program
significantly reduced total body weight gains as well as changes of BMI. Moreover, the primipara’s mood status were beneficially
improved by yoga program (p < 0.05). Taken together we suggested that the yoga program for primipara positively affected
reductions of both physical and mental statues which were derived from the pregnant. We suggest that further study will be
needed to consider compilations of various factors including different programs for pregnant duration and diet habits.
