This study investigated the effects of 1:1 debriefing simulation studies on clinical performance competency. The simulation
learning program consisted of scenarios focusing on the core nursing skill of foley catheterization. The subjects of this study
were 42 university sophomore students (31 females and 11 males). We tested clinical performance two times: once before
simulation learning and after a 1:1 debriefing simulation. Clinical performance showed statistically significant differences (t=4.427,
p<.001). Future studies should carry out applications of 1:1 debriefing simulations, step-by-step analyses of clinical simulation
techniques, and reevaluations of clinical performances.
