최근, 학습장애 출현률이 매년 감소하고 있는 추세이며, 이러한 현상이 학습장애 진단의 문제점과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 우리나라 교육부에서 제시한 학습장애 선정과 정에서는 교육 및 의료기관의 진단자료를 수용하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 학습장애 진단현 실에서 ADHD 및 정서장애와 중복될 가능성이 높은 학습장애 진단에 대한 지원방안을 마련 하기 위해 교육적 관점 이외에도 의료적 관점에서의 심층적이고 총체적인 이해가 필요하다 고 사료된다. 본 연구의 목적은 학습장애 진단에 대한 의사관점을 총체적으로 이해하고 설 명하기 위함이다. 연구방법은 질적연구의 현상학적 연구방법으로서 학습장애 임상경험이 있 는 의사 6인(소아청소년정신과 전문의 5, 일반정신과 전문의 1)을 참여자로 선정하여 개별심 층면담을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 의사들은 모두 ‘학습장애 진단의 어려움’에 대한 관점을 기 술하고 있었다. 첫째, 의사들은 공부를 못한다고 해서 모두 학습장애로 진단하는 위험성에 대해 우려하고 있었으며, 둘째, 의사들은 학습장애 진단의 어려움이 학습장애의 원인진단에 서 시작되는 것에 동의하고 있었다. 이러한 두 가지 관점이 학습장애 진단에 대한 논란으로 서 현실에서도 이미 고착화 된 문제임을 의사들은 인식하고 있었다. 셋째, 학습장애 진단을 잘하기 위한 의사들의 노력들을 확인 할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로, 학습장애 의료적 진단에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.
Recently, the number of students with learning disabilities has been reducing every year and it is exposed that this phenomenon is related with the problems on the diagnosis of learning disability. Also, the identification process of learning disability in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Korea has been accepting not only materials of education institutes but also those of medical institutes. In this reality on the Diagnosis of Learning Disability, it must have been considered for depth and holistic understanding that is, both educational perspectives and medical perspectives, because learning disability is likely to be highly co-existed ADHD and emotional disability. The purpose of this study was to understand and explain holistically for the medical doctors’ perspective on the diagnosis of learning disability. The method of study is phenomenological research method as qualitative research, and the participants of this study selected six medical doctors(child and adolescent psychiatrist 5, general psychiatrist 1) who have experience in learning disability in hospital field and have conducted personal depth interview. The result of the study is all about medical doctors’ perspective which mentioned the relationship of the difficulties in diagnosis of learning disability. First, medical doctors were worried about the dangers of diagnosis of learning disability that is, all children who are low in academic score are regarded as subjects for diagnosis of learning disability. Second, medical doctors agree that difficulties in diagnosis of learning disability begin with difficulties that diagnose the cause of learning disability. And medical doctors recognized the first, and second perspectives have already made the problems harder in reality, as the controversy of diagnosis of learning disability arise. Third, it could be confirmed that medical doctors exerted efforts in order to have a good diagnosis of learning disability. Based on these results, these are some of the suggestions discussed for medical diagnosis of learning disability.
