Through this study article, I analyzed the effects of the reality therapeutic techniques of W. Glasser in the field
of career counseling on clients’ career consciousness in quality. Three students of a academic girls’ high school in
small city carried out a career maturity test designed by KRIVET(Korea Research Institute for Vocational
Education and Training), and identified the career awareness for three students. A reality therapy program suited
to each students was developed. The reality theraphy program developped was to consult a expert. The program
was slightly changed depending on the situation and destination. The counseling cycle of Wubolding was applied
in an ongoing process of this program. Some activity with a worksheet and interview with teacher and their
parents was carried out in the course of program. A reality therapy note was utilized in each session to record
the details of WDEP. Consultation was conducted two sessions a week(a total of 10 sessions) on September 1st,
2013 to the end of October except during inter-semester exam period. The result of a applying Reality Therapy
was effective in promoting in career counseling; career maturity attitude (planning, independence), career maturity
skills (self-understanding, rational decision-making, professional knowledge desired), career maturity action (career
exploration and preparation action). In addition, it was confirmed that it is in reality a good therapeutic
relationship influencing the quality of counseling. In particular, by the sharing of resources between the classroom
teacher and students’ mother, and the discussion of the subjects, I was able to find that clients could understand
more about themselves.
