This research analyzed the 127 articles from the last two decades by the side which is a research subject, a research method and research variables in order to understand about the teacher leadership of Korea and foreign research trends. The teacher leadership appeared as the classroom instructional leadership, the school organizational leadership, the communicative leadership, the general leadership, the teacher leadership program development and operation variously from the foreign research subject side. Among those, There have been plenty of studies on the topic about general leadership. In a research method, a lot of studies of interpretive approach have been done, but still studies on leadership are insufficient. Teacher leadership of the domestic research was occupied the part where the classroom instructional leadership is most from the research subject side. and the school organizational leadership and general leadership appeared similar level, however teacher leadership program development and the operation became known with the fact that the research is insufficient. The positivist approach was occupying a great part from the research method side and the interpretive approach is most insufficient. Communicative leadership was inquired the teacher leadership relates with a research subject in foreign but it was not in Korea. Relates with a research method, interpretive approach what is used in many ways in foreign has no marked preference for the research method in Korea. In contrary, the positivist approach is used the most in Korea research but not in foreign research, that opposite dominates a research method. Hereafter teacher leadership research direction of research subject, research contents, and research method should be consequently diversified.
