The purpose of this study is to propose the legal characteristics and feasible tasks of Military Welfare Law in Korea. To meet the purpose of the study, the background and legislation of Military Welfare Law, the contents and legal characteristics of Military Welfare Law in current situations of military social welfare were analyzed. Also the directions and feasible tasks of Military Welfare Law proposed as below: 1) the civil-military-central government-local government partnership for military social welfare must be made and the given conditions must be changed to proper military social welfare. 2) the military facilities and equipments must be activated under the master plan of Military Welfare Law. 3) the members of Military Welfare Committee of Ministry of National Defense must be well selected and promoted. 4) the activities and proper programs should be developed under the national project for military social welfare. 5) military social welfare policy for veterans must be inspired to all military policies. 6) the cafeteria welfare plans for the career soldiers and their families, and the soldiers should be established and promoted. 7) benchmarking to another proper military welfare academy, especially Korean Academy of Military Social Welfare is constantly needed.
