The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the self-growth program for the application of the Noble Eight Fold Path on Self-Concept and Interpersonal Relations of University Students. A randomized controlled pre-post test design was used. The subjects of the study were 16 students who are enrolled at D University in Gyeongju. 8 subjects were randomly assigned to the experimental group while the other 8 were assigned to the control group. The experimental group underwent the program for 10 sessions, each of which lasted 90 minutes. During the period, the control group received no treatment. The program had a participant stage, transient stage, working stage and summary stage. Each session was processed in the order of purpose presentation, the activity explanation, action, and sharing period. The effects of the program were measured before and after the training by “self-Concept Scale”(Lee, 1997) and the Korean-translated version of “Relationship Change Scale”(Lee & Moon, 1979). The data were analysed using Fisher exact test, Mann-Whitney U test and Cronbach's value was calculated for the instrument's credibility using SPSS program 14.0/pc. The result of this study was that the self-growth group which had been given the application of the Noble Eight Fold Path had been effective for self-concept and interpersonal relations of university students. Therefore, it is believed that self-growth group counseling for the application of the Noble Eight Fold Path is a unique, useful program for self-growth in university students. * Child educarer in Gyeong-buk Center for Child educarer
