The purpose of this study is to find out pragmatic language skill in the patients with Alzheimer s disease. According to the purpose of study, this study was performed with 264 patients with Alzheimer s disease from 65 to 79 years old who have visited the department of psychiatry of J General Hospital located in Y City, Jeonnam. The test was performed in the form of indirect test that the guardians of the patient answer. This study has three subjects of inquiry. First, how is the pragmatic language skill of the patients with Alzheimer s disease compared to the general elders having same chronological age? Second, does the pragmatic language skill of the patient with Alzheimer s disease by subcategory has correlation each other? Third, what impact does have the level of dementia represented with the disease duration and MMSE score on the pragmatic language skill of the patients with Alzheimer s disease. In the test results, the patients with Alzheimer s disease showed the significantly low pragmatic language skill compared with the general elders and the high correlation was shown among 4 subcategories of the pragmatic language. Third, it was represented that there is no difference in the score of pragmatic language according to the disease duration but the level of dementia has significant impact on the pragmatic language skill
