Fire is very precious to mankind. However, fire that can not be controlled can be very damaging to conflagration. The damage can be minimized depending on how quickly conflagration is suppressed when conflagration occurs. The extinguisher or extinguishment facilities used to minimize the damage of conflagration are mainly applied by extinguishment by smothering. Efforts should be made to increase extinguisher and extinguishment facilities extinguishing efficiency in order to suppress conflagration quickly. Sound Fire Extinguisher can be an alternative to increase extinguishable efficiency by using it exclusively or in parallel with other extinguisher. Sound Fire Extinguisher can be used in the conflagration field in various ways as it is different from the existing extinguisher. In this paper, we investigated the effect of sound component of Sound Fire Extinguisher on extinguishment by smothering through candlelight experiment. Experimental results show that the candlelight is turned off faster than when the sound is not supplied. This confirms that the sound component of the Sound Fire Extinguisher interferes with the supply of oxygen to the fuel, which is effective for extinguishment by smothering.
