Cultural heritage is the legacy of physical remains or properties passed down from previous generations as a result of ancestor’s ways of life. We need to acknowledge the importance of cultural heritage for its succession and advancement. Especially, by focusing on preservation and preventing destruction or damage. Cultural heritage cannot be preserved by efforts of government such as Cultural Property Administration and Local goverment or researchers of this field alone. Participation of local community is important and critical. If cultural heritage is applied properly as well as preservation, it can be beneficial in education and tourism. Before this to work, maintenance and restoration has to be done based on archaeological excavation and historical research. University museums are limited in the direct research of cultural heritages compared to the past, but more active in exhibition, community education and participation in cultural programs. University museums should no longer be finding a status just within the university, but reach out to the community for preservation and application of cultural heritages.
