Industrial accidents can bring serious national, organizational, and personal loss. And it is one of a most\ninfluencing factors which can deteriorate individual’s well-being. This study investigated the relationship\nbetween employee’s subjective evaluation for organizations’s safety practice and safety behavior, and the\nmoderating effect of job involvement on the relationship. Subjective rating scores for safety practice evaluation, safety behavior, and job involvement were collected from 308 in-field workers and analyzed by using correlation analysis and hierarchical regression. The results are as follows. First, the workers’ age and years of employment were positively correlated with positive evaluation for safety practice, job involvement, and safety behavior. Second, the participants showed higher score of safety behavior as they evaluated safety practice more positively and involved in their job. Third, most importantly, it was found that job involvement significantly moderated the relationship between safety practice and safety behavior. That is, this tendency was more prominent in higher job involvement condition than in lower job involvement condition. The results suggested that increasing job involvement in organization is very crucial to enhance worker’s safety behavior.
