본 연구는 1985년부터 2008년까지 시각장애교육에 관한 국내 연구동향을 파악하고 향후 연구방향에 대한 시사점을 얻고자 실시하였다. 이를 위해 한국학술진흥재단 등재 학술지인 「시각장애연구」에 게재된 논문 중에서 시각장애교육과 관련 있는 135편의 논문을 선정하여 연구주제, 연구방법 두 가지 영역을 대별하여 분석하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구주제 관련 분석결과는, 교과교육에 관련된 논문이 25편(18.6%)으로 가장 많았으며, 재활공학 관련 21편(15.6%), 치료지원 관련 16편(11.8%), 프로그램개발 및 적용, 직업․진로 관련 각 14편(10.4%), 저시력 관련 13편(9.6%), 점자 8편(5.9%), 시각유아와 시각중복장애 관련 6편(4.4%), 가족 및 교우관계 5편(3.7%), 시 증상 관련이 4편(3.0%), 교사관련 3편(2.2%) 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 연구방법 관련 분석 결과는 조사연구 56편, 실험/비교연구 44편, 문헌연구가 33편으로서 총 98.5%로 3가지 방법이 주류를 이루었으며, 2005년부터 시각장애 관련 학술연구 유형 중에서 사례연구가 대두되기 시작한 점은 타 학술지와의 차이점이라고 할 수 있다. 연구 결과를 토대로 향후 시각장애 관련 연구 방향 및 과제를 제시를 시사 받을 수 있었으며, 시각장애교육 연구의 방향성을 파악하는데 의의가 있다.
This study is carried out to figure out the domestic study trends and implications of future study direction from 1985 until 2008. For this, of all the papers presented on ‘Visual Impairment Studies’ which is an academic paper of KRF, 135 papers are selected and analyzed its study subjects and study methodologies. As results of the analysis, first, the study subjects of visual impairment are 25(18.6%) and rehabilitation science & technology 21(15.6%), the cure support related 16(11.8%), program development & its application, occupation 14(10.4%), low-vision 13(9.6%), braille 8(5.9%), young children with visual impairments & visual impairment with multiple disabilities 6(4.4%), family & friendship 5(3.7%), eyesight symptoms 4(3.0%), and the teacher-related 3(2.2%) in this order. Second, from the results of study methodology analysis, research study 56, experiment/comparative study 44, documentary study 33 existed. The total, 98.5% was main. Since 2005, case study started. Based on the above research results, it is meaningful to identify the direction of visual impairment education studies by presenting future direction of visually-related impairment studies and subjects.
