This study is carried out to figure out the domestic study trends and implications of future study direction from 1985 until 2008. For this, of all the papers presented on ‘Visual Impairment Studies’ which is an academic paper of KRF, 135 papers are selected and analyzed its study subjects and study methodologies. As results of the analysis, first, the study subjects of visual impairment are 25(18.6%) and rehabilitation science & technology 21(15.6%), the cure support related 16(11.8%), program development & its application, occupation 14(10.4%), low-vision 13(9.6%), braille 8(5.9%), young children with visual impairments & visual impairment with multiple disabilities 6(4.4%), family & friendship 5(3.7%), eyesight symptoms 4(3.0%), and the teacher-related 3(2.2%) in this order.
Second, from the results of study methodology analysis, research study 56, experiment/comparative study 44, documentary study 33 existed. The total, 98.5% was main. Since 2005, case study started.
Based on the above research results, it is meaningful to identify the direction of visual impairment education studies by presenting future direction of visually-related impairment studies and subjects.
