본 연구는 저시력 학생들이 갖는 주요 시력 특성에 대해 정리하고, 전자독서확대기의 사용이 저시력 학생 개개인의 시각적 약점을 어떻게 보완하는지에 대한 검토를 목적으로 한다. 맹학교의 저시력 학생을 대상으로 설문조사 결과, 전자독서확대기 색상 반전 기능의 사용은 바탕색을 빛의 흡수도가 높은 어두운 색으로 출력해줌으로써 저시력 학생들이 많이 갖는 수명(羞明)현상의 감소 효과와 바탕 색상과 글자 색상의 대비 증가를 통해 글자 인식성을 증대시키는 효과를 주었다. 색상 변경 기능은 저시력 학생이 자신의 눈 특성에 맞는 글자 색상을 선택함으로써 읽기 효율성을 높이는 효과를 나타내고 있었으며, 화면상의 특정 정보에 표시를 해 주는 마커 기능은 시야의 왜곡, 떨림 등으로 인해 집중이 어려운 학생에게 중요한 기능으로 사용되고 있었다. 전자독서확대기를 사용함에 있어 무엇보다 중요한 것은 저시력 학생들 개개인의 시력 특성을 분석하고 적합한 설정을 선택하여 사용하는 것이다.
The goal of this study is to research the primary characteristics of students with low vision and to show how the electronic magnifier can assist each student in making up for their visual weakness. By using color reverse feature in electronic magnifying reading device, it is possible to output more background color absolvent darker colors. According to the survey result from the students with low vision attending a school for the blind, it improves short vision life span phenomenon which many student suffer from. In addition, it increases readability by improving the contrast rate between background color and color of the letters. The function of color mode helps students to adopt the color of letter with their eyes which can increase the efficiency of reading. Making a mark on the specified information is marker function which it is importantly used for students who are having hard time concentrating an object due to vision distortion or trembling. One of the most important features using electronic magnifier is to analyze character of each student with low vision and to use by selecting appropriate setting.
