본 연구의 목적은 가브리엘 뱅상의 그림책에 대해 탐색해 보고 유아 교육적 의미를 찾기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 가브리엘 뱅상의 글 없는 그림책「un jour, un chien」을 분석하였으며, 그 속에 담겨있는 교육적 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 그림의 구성에서의 의미를 살펴보면, 소묘의 표현으로 최소 한의 거친 선과 흑백의 명암만을 이용한 크로키 기법을 활용하였다. 힘 있는 터치감으로 낮부터 해가 지는 저녁, 밤까지 하루의 이야기를 글로는 표현할 수 없는 깊은 부분까지 그려내고 있었다. 둘째, 그림 속에 숨겨진 이야기에서의 의미를 살펴보면, 달리는 차 창밖으로 버려진 개의 절박했던 하루의 슬픔, 그리움, 다시 찾은 행복까지 다양한 감정의 변화를 담고 있다. 이는 등장인물의 심리나 분위기, 현실적으로 일어날 수 있는 상황들이 그림으로 해석할 수 있도록 되어 있어 글자에 익숙하지 않은 초기 문해자인 유아들에게 적합한 그림책이며 읽는 책이 아닌 보는 책으로서의 의미를 지닌다. 이를 통하여 유아들은 자신만의 이야기를 만들어가며 시각적 문해력을 발달시키는데 도움이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.
The purpose of this study is to explore the picture books of Gabriel Vincent and to find the meaning of early childhood education. For this purpose, Gabriel Vincent s picture book un jour, un chien was analyzed. The educational significance contained in it is as follows. First, the meaning of the picture composition is the drawing and the croquis technique using only minimal coarse line and black and white contrast is utilized. With a strong sense of touch, from the day to the evening and the night, the story of the day was drawn up to a deep part that can not be expressed. Second, the meaning of the story hidden in the picture is the story of abandoned dog from car window that in contains various emotional changes ranging from sadness, longing, happiness that has come back. It is possible to interpret the psychology, the mood, and the situation that can occur realistically with the only picture. Therefore, it is meaningful as a book that is suitable for early literate children who are not accustomed to writing. It is a viewing book, not a reading book. This suggests that young children can develop their own stories and develop visual literacy.
