Purpose: This research aims to understand the meaning and essence of the experiences of verbal abuse and effective coping method of nursing students when they were doing clinical practice Methods: The study method used phenomenological study method. Participants were eleven college students in third grade who had completed all the clinical practice that agreed to the written consent of the researchers. Data were collected by one-on-one interviews until the point of theoretical saturation and analyzed by Colaizzi`s phenomenological method Results: The results show that 4-category, 9-concept, and 19-subcategory. The three categories `onset as an escape from the unfulfilling reality`,`conflict upon unexpected choice situation‘,`search for the best students role ,`the effort to overcome difficulty‘. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, the support of counseling program development for the nursing students after experiencing verbal abuse must be important considered.
