The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relative predictive power of
motivation variables in predicting children\'s creative personality. The instruments used in
this study were \'Creative Personality Scale(CPS)(Hah, 2001)\', (WPI; Work Preference
Inventory)(Hah, 2003), and \'Self - Regulation Scale (Park․ Lee․ Hong, 2005)\'. Self-reported
response data on these instruments from 338 Primary school in Seoul were analyzed by spss
14.0 program.
The results of the study were as follows; first, there are significant positive relation in
intrinsic/extrinsic motivation and self-determinative motivation(identified regulation, intrinsic
motivation) and creative personality. identified regulation, intrinsic motivation is the best
predictor of creative personality among the motivation types in primary school students.
Creative researchers have generally agreed that motivation is more effective in creative
performance than any other reasons. The results of this study clearly supported revised view
of self-determination motivation. Therefore, this study suggests that the education of
creativity will be adapted by the sub area type of motivation.
