The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of leadership program basis on the global leader model on fostering the young children's leadership. The participants of this study were 40 young children who were four years old.
Hypothesis 1(The leadership program will be effective on fostering the young children's self leadership(self-management, constructive thinking) improvement.) and hypothesis 2(The leadership program will be effective on young children's servant leadership(respecting others, taking consideration of community) improvement.) were supposed and verified.
The participants were allocated randomly in to the experimental group and control group equally. And this research was progressed from September 16, 2009 until November 12, 2009. The measuring tool, ‘young children's leadership test(Yun, 2009, Lee at al, 2009)’ was used as pre-post test and data were progressed using SPSS win 14.0.
The results of this study were as follows.
First, the young children of an experimental test group have shown the higher score in self-leadership(self-management, constructive thinking) compared with the young children of control group. In other words, it seems that a the leadership program was efficient for young children's self leadership improvement. Second, the young children of an experimental group who carried out a leadership program have shown a more statistically significant difference in light of servant leadership(respecting others, taking consideration of community) rather than the young children of a control group who performed social programs. To put it another way, it has proved that the leadership program was efficient for young children's servant leadership improvement.
As a result of this study, the leadership program was effective on improvement of the young children's self leadership and servant leadership. Accordingly, as long as a program verified in this study was affirmatively applied in the field of young children's education according to global leader model, young children's self leadership and servant leadership will greatly improve and provide them with cutting-edge educational opportunities to grow as global leaders.
