본 연구는 시각장애학교 교사를 대상으로 교사재교육 심화교육과정 운영에 대한 실태와 인식 등을 알아보고, 시각장애학교 교사재교육 심화교육과정 운영을 위한 모형을 제시함을 목적으로 한다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 전국 12개 시각장애학교의 교사 272명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 결론은 첫째, 시각장애학교 교사의 최근 5년 이내의 교사재교육 심화교육과정 참석 현황은 저조하나, 연수내용에 대한 만족도는 보통 이상으로 사립학교에 재직하는 남교사이면서 교직경력 또는 시각장애학교 교사 경력이 높을수록 시각장애아동의 지도에 대한 전문성이 높게 나타났다. 또한 시각장애학교 교사는 현장의 중복중증화 추세에 대응하기 위한 실천방안과 교과교육 지도방법 등에 대한 학습 요구가 높았다. 둘째, 시각장애학교 교사는 시각장애학생의 시공간적 감각능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 교과 관련 지원방안에 대한 요구가 높았으며, 교사 개인의 노력이 필요하다고 인식하였다. 셋째, 시각장애학교 교사는 교사재교육 심화교육과정 연수과정의 개설에 대한 요구도가 높았고, 현장적용 가능성, 이론중심 강의 지양 등을 심화교육과정 운영의 중요한 요인으로 인식하고 있었다. 시각장애학교 교사재교육 심화교육과정은 약 60시간으로 운영되어야 하고, 교과교육 중심으로 강의 내용이 선정되어야 함을 알 수 있었다.
The purpose of this study was to illustrate the teaching status and recognition of the blind school teachers toward in service education for the blind school teachers. 272 teachers of the twelve schools for the blind students were participated for this study. One way Anova was utilized for this study. The results of this study were that: (a) communication ability, making rapport, and the characteristics of the blind students were developed well, however teaching subjects and technological support ability were needed to teach the blind students; (b) more experiences to teach the blind students, more knowledge and skills to teach the blind students; (c) the teachers wanted the in service program for blind school teachers; and (d) according to related variables such as teaching experiences, sex, the level of the schools, and the type of the schools were not important factors. Therefore this study concluded that the in service program for blind school teachers has to operate as soon as possible.
