본 연구는 백내장 시각장애 학생에 대한 교육적 지원 방안을 마련하기 위해 문헌 고찰과 인터네 검색을 통해 수집된 자료를 추출하여 분석한 후 지원 방안을 도출했다. 또한 이러한 지원 방안은 시각장애 교육 교사와 학생 자신 및 가족과 동료들에게 백내장에 관한 정보 제공과 함께 교육 장면에서 적절하고 효과적인 지원이 이루어질 수 있도록 하는 이론적 기초와 토대를 마련하는데 연구의 목적이 있었다. 이에 따른 백내장 시각장애 학생을 위한 교육적 지원 방안을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 백내장을 지닌 시각장애학생은 심리ㆍ행동적 문제를 갖게 되고, 이로 인해 내적으로는 불안과 혼란을 경험하고, 외적으로는 위축과 퇴행을 일으킬 수 있다. 이러한 문제에 대해 시각장애교육 교사는 관찰과 주기적인 상담을 통해 심리적 부담을 완화시켜 주어야 하고, 성공지향적인 훈련 계획을 수립하여 적극적이고 능동적인 태도를 기를 수 있도록 지도하고 지원해야 한다. 둘째, 백내장을 지닌 시각장애학생에게는 수정체 혼탁의 위치나 정도에 따라 광량 조절을 달리해야 한다. 이것은 수정체 중심부에 혼탁이 있을 경우에는 저조도를 제공해 주어야 하고, 주변부에 혼탁이 있을 경우에는 고조도를 제공해 주며, 혼탁이 비정형일 경우에는 학생에게 조명 조절 장치를 제공하여 원하는 광량을 얻도록 해 주어야 한다. 셋째, 읽기와 쓰기 지원에 있어서는 학습매체 평가를 통해 각 시각장애학생에게 적합한 학습매체와 학습자료를 선별하여 제공해 주는 것이 필요하고, 광학 및 비광학 기구의 처방과 사용 훈련이 이루어져야 하며, 읽기와 쓰기 과제 분량 조절이 이루어져야 한다. 넷째, 백내장 시각장애학생을 위한 보행 지원은 학생의 시환경을 고려하여 실내와 실외 환경에서 다양하게 실시되어야 하고, 다양한 보행 보조기구 활용 방법과 지팡이 사용 방법을 포함한 자기보호법 등에 대한 기술 습득 지도가 반복적이고 체계적으로 이루어져야 한다. 다섯째, 일상생활 지원에 있어서는 시환경에 기초한 의생활, 식생활, 사회적응 기술 등이 중점적으로 지도되어야 하고, 이러한 지도 는 학생의 실제 생활장면을 중심으로 다면적이고 종합적인 차원에서 이루어져야 한다.
In this study, data were collected by surveying the literature and searching the internet to prepare the methods for educational support for the students with cataract visual impairment and the methods to support were induced by analyzing the data. In addition, the objective of this study was to provide the teachers and the students with visual impairment themselves as well as their families and friends with the information regarding cataract and the fundamental theoretical basis for appropriate and effect support in the educational setting. The methods for educational support for the students with cataract visual impairment are summarized as followings: First, students with cataract visual impairment may have psychological and behavioral problems and thus experience anxiety and confusion internally and cowering and regression externally. The teachers for visual impairment education should relieve the psychological burden through observation and periodic counselling and instruct and support them by establish success-oriented training plan so that they can cultivate a positive and active attitude. Second, the light intensity should be regulated for the students with cataract visual impairment depending on the location or degree of lenticular opacity. Light at a low luminance should be provided if the opacity is at the center of the lens and light at a high luminance if the opacity is around the lens. If the opacity is atypical, a light-controlling equipment should be provided so that the student can control the light to the desired intensity. Third, with respect to the support for reading and writing, the learning media and materials appropriate to the individual students with visual impairment need to be provided selectively through the evaluation of the learning media. In addition, optical or non-optical instruments should be provided and the training for the use should be carried out. The amount of reading and writing assignment should be also controlled. Fourth, orientation and mobility support for the students with cataract visual impairment should be performed in a variety of ways indoors and outdoors considering the visual environment of each student. Instructions regarding orientation and mobility skills including self-protecting methods such as utilization of various supportive tools for orientation and mobility and use of a stick should be provided repeatedly and systematically. Fifth, regarding the support for daily living, instructions should be focused on wearing clothes, eating and skills to adjust to the society based on the visual environment. The instructions should be carried out concentrating on the actual life settings of the students in a multilateral and comprehensive manner. Key words : cataract, lens, visual impairment
