The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among parent support, hope, career self-efficacy and career
preparation behavior for college students. In order to achieve the purposes, 373 college students competed scales of
hope, parent support, career self-efficacy and career preparation behavior. The results of the study can be summarized
as follows. First, there were significant and positive correlations among parent support, hope, career self-efficacy and
career preparation behavior. Secondly, the result indicated that hope and career self-efficacy have significant influence
on career preparation behavior, and yet, the result revealed no significant correlation between career preparation behavior
and parent support. Thirdly, the mediating effects of career self-efficacy was found between hope and career preparation
behavior. Based on the findings, implications from this study were discussed. In addition, the significances and the
limitations of the study, and suggestions for future studies were also offered.
