The purpose of this study was to investigate current issues on the leisure cultures in Korea. Also, this study tried to suggest future agendas regarding the issues to promote the status of the leisure cultures in Korea. This study utilized qualitative methodology to enrich the meaning of the study. The participants of the study were eight professors who majored in leisure studies and taught the leisure studies at least 6 years in universities. As a result, this study confirmed three issues; 1) uniformed aspect of leisure culture, 2) lack of supporting policies from governments, and 3) too much commercialization in leisure culture. Those issues could be corrected through various efforts for instance founding systematical approach in leisure education. Although Korean society had to overcome various barriers to promote the status of leisure cultures, it was important to suggest future agendas to ensure the quality of life in future Korean society
