본 연구의 목적은 저소득 가정의 아동들을 대상으로 집단미술치료 프로그램을 실시하여 사회 정서적 고립감을 감소시키는데 효과가 있는지 알아보고자 하는 것이다. 연구대상은 초등학교 2, 3학년 저소득층 가정의 아동들로 실험집단 9명, 통제집단 8명이었다. 집단미술치료 프로그램은 2006년 4월 17일부터 6월 1일까지 주 2회, 회기당 50분으로 총 14회를 실시하였다. 사전과 사후의 차이를 알아보기 위한 측정도구는 허승희(1993)의 사회 정서적 고립감이었고, 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 윌콕슨 부호-순위검증을 실시하였다. 본 연구 결과에 의하면, 집단미술치료 프로그램을 실시한 결과, 실험집단과 통제집단 간에 측정도구의 하위영역 중 정서적 외로움과 정서적 고립에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 따라서 집단미술치료 프로그램은 저소득층 아동들의 사회 정서적 고립감을 감소시키는데 부분적으로 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 정서적인 측면의 외로움과 고립의 감소에 효과가 있었다.
This study investigated effects of group art therapy on the social and emotional loneliness and isolation of children from low-income families. Subject were 17 2nd and 3rd grade low-income (9 in the experimental group and 8 in the control group) Children attending an after-school program by NGO. The experimental group children participated in the program for 50 minutes per day twice a week for 14 sessions, and the control group children received no treatment. Data were analyzed by Wilcoxon\'s signed-ranks test using SPSS WIN program. Results showed that the experimental group exhibited positive change in decreasing socio-emotional isolation(in particular, in emotional loneliness and emotional isolation). Consequently, group art therapy is partly considered effective in reducing the socio-emotional loneliness and isolation of low-income children.
