This study aimed at increasing high school students’ maturity by way of research, design, and
preparation for selection of a profession that is the most important for life through the career education.
There is a variety of education aimed at career maturity, but here is inspected the differing effect
between the researching type course and course education with media to present a course program more efficient. In this study, 3 classes were selected from the first grade of high school, among them 2 classes were formed by researching type course and by course education with media, while the remaining class was formed by control group. Applied 2 experimental groups were programs of a researching type course and of a course education with media to inspect what influence each had on their career maturity. As a result, researching type course education was shown to be the best, and the media type education the second. And researching type group was more meaningfully improved than media group on the intellectual side of self-understanding and profession. Though this study, researching type course education that is self-leading and active worked more positively on maturity during the course than passive course education including media, and a need to connect course education from elementary school to university so as to allow the student to understand himself and society while selecting a profession.
