Recently, almost all countries drive to reform school curriculum as a pivotal of educational reform. This paper is concerned with globalization which propels each country's educational reform and curriculum change. Nowadays, globalization is a ubiquatous phenomena in the world wide, and that are emerging as a challenge to education sector. Each country tries to adapt education system to the new global environment. The one direction of educational reform in a globalized society is focused on ‘education for international competitiveness'. For example, U. S. education-ists emphasize the importance of students' recognition about worldwide issues in order for maintaining their influences to other countries. Also under-developed and developing countries emphasize the globalization in education for their survival in current international environments. The other direction of educational reform in a globalized society is focused on ‘education for international understanding'. But this kind of educational reform is not activated until now, in spite of the necessity of education for international understanding in a increasing interdependency between countries. In this paper, I proposed the direction and content of education for international understanding in the globalized society. Effects of globalization, inter-cultrural understanding, human rights, and sustainable development must be included in school curriculum for international understanding. And I proposed also how we could reform school curriculum for enhancing the status of education for international understanding in school. In order to enforcing the education for international understanding in school, integration this content to all subjects and allotting special time for education for international understanding is needed.
