The purpose of this study is to see if art therapy is effective in reducing depression and improving self esteem of un-hospitalized alcoholics. Study subjects are two men alcoholics who\'ve been treated at the day time ward of A hospitalin D city, suffering low self esteem, alcoholiclethargy, anger with trivial matters, and pessimism. The art therapy program consisted of a total of 24sessions, twicea week with each lasting 60minutes. Study tools for data analysis were the measure ments of depression and self esteem for pretest, posttest, and follow-up test, which were marked in original grade and percentage. The results from the study are as follows. Frist, art therapy shows an effect not only to reduce alcoholic depression, but also to improve self-esteem of alcoholics. Second, art therapy shows an effect passive behavior change conative behavior of alcoholics.
