본 연구는 시설에 보호 받고 있는 아동을 대상으로 미술치료를 실시하여 아동의 외현화 문제, 사회적 유능성, 그리고 일상적 스트레스에 효과가 있는지를 살펴보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 초등학교 5학년 남아 1명이다. 본 연구에 대한 미술치료 프로그램은 주 1~2회, 약 60분으로 총 30회기를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 측정 도구는 K-CBCL, 공격성, MESSY, 그리고 일상적 스트레스 척도를 사용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미술치료가 시설보호 아동의 외현화 문제에 효과가 있었다. 아동의 비행과 공격성에 감소를 나타냈다. 둘째, 미술치료가 시설보호 아동의 사회적 유능성에 향상을 보였다. 셋째, 미술치료가 시설보호 아동의 일상적 스트레스에 감소를 나타냈다. 그리고 미술치료는 검사 시기별로 지속적인 변화를 나타냈으며, 추후 시기에도 변화를 보였다. 따라서 시설보호 아동을 위한 미술치료가 예방적ㆍ치료적 차원에서 가능한 조기의 치료 개입에 대한 중요성을 시사한다고 하겠다.
This study is to inquire into the effect of art therapy on the problems in externalization, social competence, daily stress of the institutionalized children. The study subject is one 5th grade elementary schoolboy. This art therapy program was carried our during 30 sessions for about 60 minutes per session, once or twice per week. The measurement tool is K-CBCL, Aggressiveness, MESSY, daily stress scale. The results are as follows. Firstly, it was found out that this program has an effect on the problems in externalization. This program decreases the aggressiveness and delinquency of the institutionalized children. Secondly, this program helps to increase the social competence of them. Thirdly, this program helps to decrease their daily stress. More importantly, this art therapy for the institutionalize children shows a crucial, positive changes by the therapeutic time. Especially, it also shows a consistent change in the further time. Consequently, it is possible to say that it gives a significance for the earliest therapeutic intervention possible in view of the preventiveㆍcurative value.
