"The purpose of this research is to investigate effects on institutionalized children's self-esteem and depression who suffer from emotional maladjustment, providing group art therapy to help their emotion stable. This study was conducted with 10, 4th, 5th and 6th grade elementary school students in S-city, treating group art therapy for 90minutes twice a week. The methods of the measurement were HTP for self-esteem and depression scale and the data, average and standard deviation were analyzed by SPSS v12. T-test was conducted to figure out art therapy effects before and after the experiment. The results as follows; First, looking examine the result whether art therapy effect to increase the institutionalized children's self-esteem or not, statistically the result is showed something effectively and the experiment group's self-esteem was increased something. Statistically, group . Second, the experiment group's depression score was decreased by 9.2 points, which means group art therapy was effective to reduce the depression for the institutionalized children.
