본 연구는 요양병원에 입원하고 있는 치매노인을 대상으로 회상요법을 적용한 집단콜라주 미술치료를 실시하여 문제행동에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 문제행동을 가진 12명의 치매노인을 선정하여 실험집단 6명, 통제집단 6명으로 구성하였고, 실험집단에게는 주 2회 총 15회기의 집단콜라주 미술치료를 실시하였다. 측정도구로는 치매노인의 문제행동사정도구를 사용하였으며 자료분석은 t-test, paired t-test이다. 프로그램이 진행되는 동안 각 회기별로 연구대상들의 문제행동 변화를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과 첫째, 치매노인의 문제행동에 대한 사전-사후 분석결과 회상요법을 적용한 집단콜라주 미술치료 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 문제행동이 통계적으로 유의하게 감소되었다. 특히 반복질문이나 소음을 내는 등의 반복행동을 하는 초조성이 유의미하게 감소되었으며 화를 내거나 큰 소리를 내는 공격성이나 간호에 대한 저항도 줄어들었다. 둘째, 회상요법을 적용한 집단콜라주 미술치료 프로그램을 통해 회기별에 따른 치매노인의 행동에 긍정적인 변화가 나타났다. 회기가 진행되면서 집단원 간에 상호작용이 일어나고 부정적인 언어가 줄어들며 불안이나 초조성으로 인해 일어나는 문제행동들이 감소되었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 회상요법을 적용한 집단콜라주 미술치료 프로그램은 요양시설에 있는 치매노인의 문제행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다.
