In order to resolve the above questions, 25 students with mental retardation, 25 students with cerebral palsy were selected from students of elementary-high school. Their social-perspective-taking abilities and self-determination abilities were measured. The results of measuring social-perspective-taking abilities and self-determination abilities of students with mental retardation and with cerebral palsy were treated to obtain mean and standard deviation as descriptive statistics and compared through correlation analysis. The results of this study are as follows. The students with mental retardation achieved higher in the social-perspective-taking abilities rather than students with cerebral palsy. The students with mental retardation achieved higher self-determination abilities rather than students with cerebral palsy. The social-perspective-taking abilities of the students with mental retardation and the students with cerebral palsy was correlative with self-determination abilities. As above, the students with mental retardation achieved higher social-perspective-taking abilities and self-determination abilities rather than students with cerebral palsy, we can say that social-perspective-taking abilities are positively associated with self-determination abilities.
