"The social concern about elder abuse in our society is relatively not high than the care for other family violences including child abuse Yet these days, the recognition of elder abuse and its countermeasure seem to be shortcoming. As population of people older than 65 is increasing, the events related to elder abuse is increasing too. But the real state of the problem has been kept as secret family affair being out of sight of society. There is growing recognition that various types of violence including child abuse, wife mistreatment and elder abuse are to be seen as one of the social problem which is closed and fatal problem within boundary of home. The elder abuse problem, hidden and closed in the house, has been coming up on the surface as social workers and medicare professionals came to visit each house units of the aged people following the introduction of Long-term Care Insurance For the aged since July 2008. And we could foresee that elder abuse problem can be happened in the facilities having poor system. Therefore, it is urgent to build support system for the prevention and countermeasures against elder abuse in whole area of society.
