"In this study, the current status of senior citizens’ welfare in Korea which has faced a rapid increase of number of senior citizens will be looked into closer focusing on the actual status of comprehensive senior citizens’ welfare in Yanggugun, Injegun, and Hwachoengun of Gangwondo, where the number of senior citizens is rapidly growing. The purpose of this study is to grasp problems of senior citizens’ welfare in agricultural regions by dividing problems into those of family structure, finance, health, leisure activities and social welfare service. On the basis of the results, policy support for senior citizens’ welfare in agriculture and improvement devices in service will be sought for to improve the life condition of senior citizens in agriculture. The government and local autonomous entity should pay endless attention and make efforts to satisfy senior citizens’ needs in agricultural regions where aging is remarkably present. Policies which are drawn up to reflect regions’ characteristics with actual understanding of senior citizens’ needs and appropriate implementation thereof are expected to figure out the problems and to improve quality of life of senior citizens in agricultural regions which is inferior to urban regions. * Key words : senior citizens's welfare, aging, senior citizens in agriculture"
