"Korea has been experiencing rapid change of populational composition due to low birthrate and aging phenomena, unprecedented even in the world. Providing the chance to experience multiple activities with youngsters in this situation is one of the countermeasures to deal with low birthrate as to help them to become wholesome grown-ups who can efficiently react to the rapid changes of society.
Extracurricular activities not alone help youngsters to cultivate balances personality and self-identity but also make them have sound youth culture and community membership becoming a drive force to integrate into solidarity. The measures to activate extracurriculum for youngsters, the policies systemized by age category and level in cooperation of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the organ in main charge of youth policy and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, one in main charge of education, in order to let the adolescents manage meaningful life with hope for future.
