학생들은 신체활동을 포함한 체육활동에 적극적으로 참여하는가 하면 어떤 학생들은 신체활동을 기피하기도 한다. 이러한 현상은 학생들이 신체활동과 야외활동에 대한 신념체계가 어떻게 구성되어 있는가에 따라 달라진다고 알려져 있다. 즉, 학생 개인의 체육에 대한 가치관의 차이가 활동참여에 대한 적극성 또는 소극성을 결정한다는 것이다(Cox & Williams, 2008; Hagger, Chatzisarantis, Culverhouse, & Biddle, 2003; Ntoumanis, 2005)
"This research examines a causal relationship among sport values, achievement orientations, and attitudes in elementary school. The subjects are 592 elementary school children(boys:330, girls:262) in G city and J province. This study is constructed theoretical model of causal relationship between exogenous and endogenous variables. Exogenous variable are moral, competence, status, endogenous are task-orientation, ego-orientation, prosocial attitudes, and antisocial attitudes. In analysis path analysis, this theoretical model are significant(χ2/df=2.30, GFI=.93, TLI=.90, CFI=.92, RMSEA=.06). In analysis causal relationship between exogenous and endogenous variables, path of morality → prosocial attitudes, morality → ego-orientation, competence and status → task and ego-orientation, pro and antisocial attitudes are significance.
