This study conducted a survey on teachers\' perception and the status of science education in two
institutions: kindergarten and childcare center. A total of 204 in-service teachers participated in this
survey through responding to a questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of two parts: the status and
the teachers’ recognition on science education. The collected data were analyzed according to teacher’s
variables: type of institution, teaching experience, and their level of education. In the results, there were
significant differences according to teacher’s variables. These results can be used to further improve
teacher education and to activate science education.
