This study aims to investigate the work-life balance level, in respect of central
public officials, and then investigate the effect of organizational variables(WLB
organizational culture, implementation of WLB support system) and individual
variables(the time spent on work and life, WLB belief) on this. The results are
as follows. Firstly, the balance level between work and life of public officials
showed the points lower than the average(3 points). Secondly, as a result of
investigating the difference between work-life balance levels, according to the
demographic characteristics of public officials, the work-home balance showed
significant difference between groups. It was analyzed that the balance score of
married persons, men, and persons in their 40’s are relatively lower than that of
singles, women and other age groups(especially people in their 20’s),
respectively. Especially, in respect of marital status, not only in the work-home
balance, but also in the leisure-health balance, there were significant differences
between groups. Thirdly, as a result of investigating the effect of organizational
and individual variables affecting work-life balance of public officials, there were
statistically significant differences in the order of ‘the time spent on work and
life area’, ‘WLB belief’, and ‘WLB organizational culture’. ‘Implementation of
WBL support system’ was analyzed not having significant effect on work-life
balance. Based on the results as above, the undertone of study was discussed.
