본 연구는 부모교육을 통한 미술치료가 장애아동의 의사소통 및 사회적 행동에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위한 것으로, 부모에게 미술치료 교육 실시 후, 아동과 미술치료 프로그램을 실시하여 아동의 의사소통과 사회적 행동에 유의한 변화가 있는지 살펴보았다. 연구대상은 발달장애아동과 어머니로 이루어진 10쌍이었다. 부모교육을 통한 미술치료 프로그램의 진행은 한 달에 두 번, 각 회기별로 2시간씩, 총 10회기를 실시하였다. 의사소통의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 매 회기마다 의사소통 행동 관찰기록지를 사용하였다. 사회적 행동의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 사회적 행동평정척도를 사용하였으며, 통계적 분석을 위하여 부모의 사전-사후 검사 결과를 t-test 검증을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 부모교육을 통한 미술치료의 매 회기 관찰된 의사소통행동에서 장애아동의 의사소통은 대체적으로 상승하는 변화를 보였다. 둘째, 장애아동의 사회적 행동(비언어적 행동(p<.01)영역과 언어적 행동(p<.001)의 영역)에서 유의한 변화(p<.05)를 나타내었다. 따라서 부모교육을 통한 미술치료가 장애아동에게 의사소통 및 사회적 행동 향상에 효과가 있었음을 알 수 있었다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Parent Education Art Therapy programs on the communication and social behaviors of disorder children. This study attempted to show it's effectiveness to improve those variables through Parent Education Art Therapy programs. The subjects of the study were 10 pairs of disorder children and their parents. They received total 10 sessions of Parent Education Art Therapy programs twice a month, two hours in each sessions. Communication skill test was used to examine changes in disorder children's communication in each sessions. Social behaviors rating scale test was used to examine changes in social behaviors, for the comparison pre to post assessment, the statistical analyses were conducted for the parent's two measurements(paired t-test). The conclusions of this study were as follows; First, the communication of disorder children was improved by Parent Education Art Therapy programs. Second, the statistical significance level was p<.05 consequently, the social behaviors(area of nonverbal behaviors( p<.01) and area of verbal behaviors( p<.001)) of disorder children were improved by Parent Education Art Therapy programs significantly. Consequently, Parent Education Art Therapy programs can improve the communication and social behaviors of disorder children.
