The boundary among countries is becoming vague and ceaseless changes continue as various nations and cultures coexist and unite in the present time. That is, it is the multi-cultural age in which new culture is created through mutual combination and change, rather than focusing on specific cultures. As of 2008, the number of foreigners staying in Korea is over 1 million, or 2% of the total Korean population, which suggests that Korea has entered a multi-cultural society. The current study examined the necessity of museum education in a multi-cultural society for foreigners. In Chapter II, the necessity of museum education for foreigners was discussed. And then, museum education for foreigners were examined and development stages of education programs for foreigners were analyzed focusing on National Museum of Korea that represents Korea locating in Seoul, National Folk museum of Korea and Seoul museum of History in Chapter III. In conclusion, suggestions and future tasks were proposed in order to activate museum educational program for foreigners responding to the multi-cultural age and its methodological solutions on the basis of results of the current study.
