The purpose of this thesis is to examine the effective educational utilization of virtual
museum in the web 2.0 environment. First of all, it examined the concept of
constructivism, e-learning study and virtual museum that are the theoretical background
through which it presented ‘digital archive, educational space for learners and teachers,
learning community‘ as an utilization plan of virtual museum that can become an
effective learning tool and space of learner-centered education by applying e-learning study
type. In addition, it presented the domestic and international cases for the understanding
of each item. Through this, the possibility of virtual museum is expected as a place of
education that realizes the appearance as cooperative learner that can actively participate in
the learning community, while possessing the creative and emotional educational activities
sought in the 21st century, as well as fun and interest in the learning activities.
