본 연구에서는 초임특수교사를 개인 차원에서 임파워먼트 할 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 위 해 셀프-임파워먼트 개념을 강조하고, 그 개념을 바탕으로 하는 셀프-임파워먼트 전략을 개 발한 후 그 효과성을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 초임 특수교사 6명을 대상으로 선행연구들을 바탕으로 개발한 셀프-임파워먼트 증진 전략을 10회기에 걸쳐 적용하고 임파워먼트의 수준 이 어떻게 변화되었는지를 확인하였다. 연구결과, 셀프-임파워먼트 증진 전략을 사용한 초임 특수교사들은 10회기 이후에 통계적으로 유의미한 수준의 긍정적 변화가 나타나 본 연구에 서 사용한 전략이 장애학생을 지도하고 교직생활에 적응을 잘 해야 하는 초임 특수교사들에 게 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 초임 특수교사들을 위한 재교육이나 현직 연수의 기회가 제한적인 현실에서 본 연구에서 개발된 셀프-임파워먼트 증진 전략을 적극적으로 활용된다면 이들 교사의 역량을 강화하는데 도움 을 얻을 수 있음을 시사하였다.
This study is to develope self-empowerment strategies and to evaluate effectiveness of the strategies through experience them. For the purpose, this study reviewed the concept of self-empowerment, It examines effects of the strategies on 6 novice special education teachers. Through applying the strategies and analysing it, some significant differences were found in total empowerment and its sub-factors, goal oriented awareness, efficacy, self-determination, job satisfaction between intervention group and control group after 10 intervention sessions. These findings suggested that this strategies be helpful for beginning special education teachers' self-empowerment. It is meaningful to prove utility if the strategies in special education situation with limited training or growing opportunities for special education teachers.
