The Korean institutions of higher education have performed three educational
reform systems based on the ground of neo-liberalism in order to improve
educational competitiveness. First, customers\' centered education has
strengthened the selective initiatives of learners based on educational
consumerism. Second, free competition system has diversified and specialized
schooling through the rivalry among educational institutions. Third,
compensatory system through evaluation has enforced administrators of Ministry
of Education, Science and Technology to supply objective information about
educational institutions to educational customers, therefore, it enables the
educational customers to make rational decisions(of department choice).
In considering education system as customers\' centered education, community
college should execute life long education for curriculum specialization and
career development from the viewpoint related with freshmen\'s recruit, students\'
maintenance, and graduates\' follow-up study. And students should choose their
departments in consideration of not only their entrance exam records and
geographical conditions but also the diverse and complicated factors of macro
and micro levels. In consequence of the delphi test on their department choice,
entrance examination attendants take a serious view of employment prospects
and counselling on choice of college. But according to the result analysis of
structure equation model, independents values are influenced on a region of high
school and time of attending school, media values are executed on the
satisfaction of higher education and the possibility of employment, and
dependents values are included on a home environment, acknowledgement of
higher education, management of curriculum, and academy-industry cooperation.
